A Green Approach to the Removal of Malachite Green Dye from Aqueous Medium Using Chitosan/Cellulose Blend

The usage of a cost-effective, eco-friendly, and highly efficient adsorbent for the removal dye from an aqueous solution is presented in this paper. This work focuses on prospective use chitosan/cellulose blend to remove malachite green (MG) medium. Results revealed that maximum adsorption occurs within 30 min experiment. SEM images exhibited change their surface morphology upon dye. isotherm MG fits Langmuir Freundlich equations follows pseudo-second-order rate equation. capacity 115.1 mg/g when compared isotherm. 98.65% degradation observed at room temperature dosage 0.2 g per ml initial concentration. RL, dimensionless constant separation factor evaluated present study 0.1488, which specifies favorable. Current analysis its comparison studies with other reports adsorbents conclude can be considered cost-effective choice MG.
